Responding to the rising needs for cancer support services in Kowloon West and New Territories West, the Club’s Charities Trust has granted the Hong Kong Cancer Fund funding of HK$7.5 million to establish its new CancerLink Jockey Club Support Centre in Kwai Chung, its largest support service centre.
Officially opened on 8 June, the Centre provides free professional services including counselling, family support, diet and nutrition consultation, symptoms and side effects management, financial assistance and more, helping patients diagnosed with cancer and their families to face their challenges. It also organises various cancer support groups to enhance peer support among cancer survivors.
The Centre is expected to serve more than 20,000 cancer patients and their families each year.
