With demand for affordable and nutritious food among the underprivileged growing, the Club has donated HK$18.55 million to the Bo Charity Foundation to launch the Food Angel Jockey Club Food Rescue and Hot Meal Assistance Programme in 2014. Food Angel collects surplus food of all kinds from different outlets and turns them into nutrition meals and redistributes them to the needy in West Kowloon and the New Territories through non-governmental organisation partners, thereby cutting the food expenses of the underprivileged and reducing the disposal of unnecessary waste.
