The Club plays a vital role in supporting and developing Hong Kong's medical services. It collaborates with Government and local institutions in the promotion of primary health care, the improvement of facilities, the introduction of new technology and educational facilities.
In 2003, in support of the fight against communicable diseases, the Club donated HK$500 million towards the establishment of the Centre for Health Protection. The Centre, under the Department of Health, opened in October 2004.
The Club is always looking for new initiatives to improve the quality of life and well-being of our community. With the adverse effect of global warming and climate change, the Club earmarked HK$350 million in 2008 to initiate a multi-year, citywide Environment Project. This project embraces an extensive range of educational and public awareness activities.
