Jockey Club funds three new charities projects to support all-round child development and family harmony
25/04/2018

On the opening day (30 March) of the Club’s annual flagship community event, the Riding High Together Festival, its Charities Trust announced a donation of over HK$480 million to launch three new projects, namely KeySteps@JC, the Jockey Club SMART Family-Link Project and Fun to MOVE@JC. Through cross-sectoral and cross-professional collaboration, these projects will provide support for all-round child development and family harmony to benefit some 140,000 citizens in need of such services.

KeySteps@JC is aimed at providing educational, family, physical and mental health support for disadvantaged children to build stronger foundation years for better life outcomes. A team of educational psychologists, social workers, speech therapists and medical professionals will offer all-round support at 32 kindergartens in the pilot areas of Sham Shui Po and Tin Shui Wai for children and families.

The Jockey Club SMART Family-Link Project will be implemented in all 26 NGO-operated Integrated Family Service Centres, making creative usage of information and communications technology to increase family harmony.

Fun to MOVE@JC is aimed at nurturing the interests of primary school children, so as to encourage participating in regular physical activity for more balanced development in their lives.
