Following the training of the first batch of volunteers in November 2022, another batch of CARE volunteers have also joined the “Home Bunny Home” Programme co-organised by the CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team and Hong Kong Rabbit Society (HKRS). On 17 June 2023, the volunteers attended basic training at the shelter of HKRS located in Mong Kok, learning to clean rabbit cages, replace grasses, add water, etc, as well as assisting in some daily cleaning work. Understanding the shelter is the rabbits’ home before adoption, the volunteers not only spent effort in cleaning but also interacted with the bunnies, with the hope of them staying healthy. Upon the completion of the training, the volunteers will take up the role of serving homeless rabbits in long term.
