In June 2023, 24 CARE@hkjc volunteers successfully completed the Hand and Face Painting Course, which was co-organised by CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team and The Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association Jockey Club Y Plus+ Talent Development Centre. Over the course of four training workshops, the volunteers learnt various hand and face painting techniques and practised painting graphics of flowers, butterflies and animals on their hands and faces. These skills set them for hand and face painting services as CARE Painters during different community activities in the future.
Following their training, some of the trained CARE volunteers took the lead to offer their hand and face painting services at the “Stay, Don’t Go!” Pet Market Place event held in Tseung Kwan O and Repulse Bay on 2 and 8 July respectively. The event, organised by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) (“SPCA”), attracted people of all ages who showed great interest in the paintings and made generous donations to the SPCA in exchange for their favourite designs. The CARE Painters are eagerly anticipating future service opportunities and are excited to continue making a positive impact in the community.
