On 19 January, CARE volunteers joined “Love Action in Chinese New Year 2020”, organised by Forever Peace Foundation, and supported by Agency for Volunteer Service. It was a meaningful event that CARE volunteers paid home visits to singleton elderly and provided basic cleanup services, followed by an early Chinese New Year celebration with them.

It is a tradition practice that people to do spring-cleaning on the days before the New Year celebration. However, some elders are unable to do so due to physical limitations. On the event day, volunteers paid visits to the elders residing in Sham Shui Po district and provided basic household cleanup services. What’s more, the team brought along some handmade Narcissus-like balloon figures to the elders as CNY decoration. The elders were happy receiving the gifts and appreciated all the efforts made by volunteers.

After the home visit, volunteers participated in a Chinese New Year celebration with the elders at an open area of the estate and presented goodie bags to them.
