A long tradition of philanthropy.
A commitment that begins at home.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s history of donating to charitable causes can be traced back to 1915. In the 1950s, as Hong Kong struggled with post-war reconstruction and a large influx of migrants, we made this role a key part of our operations. Since then, we have worked to improve the lives of Hong Kong people through programmes that engage our community, driving progress through positive change.
In 1993, to better reflect the evolving nature, scale, and scope of our donations, a new entity was established: The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Today, it is recognised as the largest charitable donor in Asia and one of the biggest worldwide.
Our commitment to the betterment of our society is founded on four core values that guide us in everything we do: world-class leadership, uncompromising integrity, continuous development and serving the community.
With these values as our bedrock, the Trust works with the government, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and community partners to actively identify the most pressing social needs and implement initiatives to address them. Together we collaborate to foster a caring and inclusive community.
