The Hong Kong Jockey Club promotes the development of arts and culture to enrich the lives of Hong Kong people. Being the sole sponsor, we proudly bring you The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: United in Arms, Standing for Peace — 80th Anniversary of Chinese Victory in the War of Resistance Exhibition.
The exhibition showcases 183 artefacts from the War of Resistance on loan from the National Museum of China, Hong Kong cultural institutions and museums, and local collectors. These are supplemented by collections from the Hong Kong Museum of History, including valuable historical photos and videos. Together, they trace the origins, progression and conclusion of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, highlight its significance as the principal Eastern front of the World Anti-Fascist War, and the vital role of Hong Kong during the war.
The exhibition features an educational interactive corner where visitors can learn about the War of Resistance in engaging and dynamic ways. Highlights include some 20 interactive programmes through which attendees can learn about key historical figures associated with wartime Hong Kong and listen to speeches delivered at the victory of the War of Resistance.
We also support a series of educational activities including workshops, lectures, thematic academic seminars and film screenings related to the war for visitors, teachers and students. Guided tours will also be available for the public, schools and people with disabilities, helping to raise awareness, strengthen national identity and promote patriotism among the public, educators and young people.
We are committed to building an inclusive, creative and vibrant Hong Kong, where everyone can enjoy the benefits offered by cultural experiences and an improved quality of life through arts.
