Event details
The Harmonious Horse International Exhibition Tour is part of The Hong Kong Jockey Club's Year of the Horse campaign, a year-long celebration of the profound bond between horses and humans and the special role of the horse in Chinese culture and Hong Kong's history. In this tour, renowned cross-disciplinary artist Simon Ma presents a series of horse sculptures at various districts in Hong Kong throughout the year. Together, the Club and Simon Ma will bring this cultural significance to life, engaging the Hong Kong community through art, heritage and community experiences.
The exhibition tour opens at the Sha Tin Racecourse on 19 February at the Year of the Horse Raceday, the third day of Chinese New Year. Two striking four-metre-high horse sculptures in dynamic pose of running side by side symbolises unity between the Club and the community.
Eighteen community horse sculptures will join the tour, representing our extensive presence across Hong Kong. Students will be invited to paint these sculptures, while evening light projections will evoke the spirited essence of horses, creating a vibrant community experience for residents and visitors alike.
