As one of Tai Kwun’s signature annual programmes, this event introduces the world's leading light projection mapping technology to Hong Kong, presenting a spectacular mapping show on the historic façades of Tai Kwun, offering the audience a visual feast.

Event details

InnerGlow is Tai Kwun’s signature annual programme launched in 2022 which brings the world’s leading architectural projection mapping technology to Hong Kong to illuminate and animate the façades of Tai Kwun’s historic buildings and produce a large-scale public entertainment to attract families and audiences of all ages during a three-week season around Lunar New Year.

This year’s InnerGlow welcomes The Collective, one of Hong Kong’s most imaginative design and technology studios. Featured at the Parade Ground and historic Barrack Block façades, the centrepiece “Discotheque Dreams” invites audiences to recall disco’s arrival in Asia through pulsing beats and a kaleidoscopic neon-disco dreamscape blending East and West, from lion dances and martial arts films to 70s Hollywood hits. For the first time, real-time audience participation is incorporated into the show alongside both projections and live performances.

In parallel, at the Prison Yard is Searchlight, Tai Kwun’s mentorship programme offers practical experience and creative insights from industry leaders, aiming to nurture next-generation artists. A 30-minute showcase by returning alumni lights up the Prison Yard under the guidance of outdoor projection mapping specialist The Electric Canvas, multimedia artist Ng Tsz-kwan and sound designer Roy Cheung. Visitors can experience alumni elevating their work to new levels, with advanced technology and deeper digital storytelling.

Together with the Club, Tai Kwun aspires to contribute to a culturally vibrant Hong Kong, amplifying the city’s role as a thriving arts and cultural hub in the region and the global arena.
