As Hong Kong's population ages, brain health is attracting increasing public attention. This interactive exhibition lets visitors learn about dementia, understand its impact on individuals and families, and discover practical ways to maintain brain health in everyday life.
Presented by the Jockey Club “Brain Health” Dementia Screening and Community Support Programme, The Echoes of Memory Exhibition takes the 14 dementia‑related risk factors as its central theme. Through interactive games, artworks, installations, and informational display panels, the exhibition presents complex concepts in an engaging and accessible way, enabling the public to better understand dementia risk factors and their impact on brain health.
The exhibition features five interactive zones that guide visitors through different aspects of brain health and dementia:
Zone 1: Nostalgia Spic and Match
Echoing the historical context of Central Market, this zone incorporates nostalgic elements through a vintage objects matching game. Visitors can interact with familiar items from the past while building visual connections with the 14 risk factors before entering the main exhibition.
Zone 2: The Keys to the 14 Risk Factors
This zone showcases exhibits, artworks, and educational panels related to the 14 dementia risk factors, providing detailed information on how each factor may influence brain health and the risk of developing dementia.
Zone 3: Dementia City
Through interactive scenes and activities within Dementia City, visitors are invited to experience the world from the perspective of people living with dementia. It also offers insights into their daily lives and challenges, encouraging reflection on how communities can better support them.
Zone 4: Brain Health Experience Zone and “The Last Memory” Message Board
Interactive activities such as “Visual Illusion Space,” “Brain Age Test”, and “Step-in-Place Challenge” allow participants to explore aspects of cognitive function and gain a basic understanding of their brain health. A postcard message corner is also available, where visitors can share their most cherished memories, blessings and reflections.
Zone 5: Silver Footprints
This zone introduces the mission and core values of the Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing and highlights key milestones and contributions from its 25-year journey in community and dementia care.
