Event details
The Hong Kong Jockey Club promotes the development of arts and culture to enrich the lives of Hong Kong people. We proudly support the establishment of the Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM), providing unique opportunities to appreciate national treasures. Additionally, we support a series of creative initiatives by the HKPM from 2023 to 2032 to promote Chinese arts and culture, including major exhibitions under “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series”.
This exhibition is one of the series and it also marks the HKPM’s first outdoor public art initiative, designed to enrich the HKPM's offerings and the visitor experience by integrating art into public spaces. Themed by the traditional Chinese garden aesthetics, the exhibition features six sculptures and multimedia installations created by six cross-disciplinary Hong Kong artists and architect, presenting poetic and zen-style landscapes through a contemporary lens.
Using materials such as bamboo, metal and fabric, and incorporating light, shadow and dynamic structures, the installations reinterpret traditional garden elements, such as pavilions, rock formations, flowing water, winding paths and plants, into poetic contemporary expressions. Several works include interactive features that invite visitors to wander and pause, experiencing the harmonious coexistence of art and environment.
We are committed to building an inclusive, creative and vibrant Hong Kong, where everyone can enjoy the benefits offered by cultural experiences and an improved quality of life through arts.
