Event details
The Harmonious Horse International Exhibition Tour is part of The Hong Kong Jockey Club's Year of the Horse campaign, a year-long celebration of the profound bond between horses and humans and the special role of the horse in Chinese culture and Hong Kong's history. In this tour, renowned cross-disciplinary artist Simon Ma presents a series of horse sculptures at various districts in Hong Kong throughout the year. Together, the Club and Simon Ma will bring this cultural significance to life, engaging the Hong Kong community through art, heritage and community experiences.
Two harmonious horse sculptures symbolising the unity between the Club and the community, were showcased at Sha Tin Racecourse on 19 February at the Year of the Horse Raceday, the third day of Chinese New Year, and on 22 March at the BMW Hong Kong Derby.
The Tsim Sha Tsui Community Exhibition, first stop of the community district tour, featured community horse sculptures at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza from 16 to 21 May. At its Launch Ceremony on 16 May, students and guests were invited to paint on mini horse sculptures; and the results of the “Horse With You” Art Competition were also announced. Afterwards, the exhibition will tour various districts in Hong Kong, as well as Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and other locations.
*Weather permitting. The show will be cancelled in the event of rain.
