Event details
To foster the development of arts and culture and enrich the lives of the Hong Kong community, we are proud to exclusively sponsor The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Prosperity and Magnificence - Civilisation of the Sui and Tang Dynasties in Shaanxi Province. Featuring over 165 sets of precious artefacts, this exhibition invites you to experience the splendour of the Sui and Tang dynasties.
Through the exhibition, you can witness the transition from the ethnic integration of the Northern and Southern dynasties to the innovation of the Sui and the magnificence of the Tang. You can also explore the refined prosperity of Chang'an and Hong Kong's strategic role in trade and military affairs, showcasing the confidence, openness and pioneering spirit that defined these golden ages.
This is the third exhibition in the General History of China Series, co-presented by the Hong Kong Museum of History and the Chinese Culture Promotion Office. It provides a chronological exploration of Chinese history, offering a deeper understanding of the evolution of Chinese culture.
As part of our year-long Year of the Horse series, this exhibition features horse-related artefacts, including Tang dynasty pottery figurines and horse trappings. Through immersive VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality) experiences, witness the vibrant equestrian culture of the Tang dynasty. Join us as we celebrate the unique bond between humans and horses.
