Step into the Future City Lab at JC CoolScience Carnival 2026, an immersive science experience bringing together exploration, creativity and imagination. Supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club and co-organised by the Hong Kong Science Museum, the event invites visitors to engage with science in a fun and accessible way through a wide range of interactive experiences.
Centred on inquiry-based learning, the carnival is designed for children aged 5-11 and is presented in partnership with The Royal Institution of Great Britain. Through an exciting programme of theatre science shows, demonstrations and hands-on activities, participants can explore how science shapes the development of future cities and connects with everyday life.
Children are also invited to become “Future Makers”, applying curiosity, creativity and problem-solving skills through a series of engaging challenges. By designing, building, testing and refining their ideas, children build a deeper understanding of scientific concepts while exploring themes such as energy and natural phenomena, including wind, clouds and earthquakes.
Also taking place on the first day of the carnival is the JC CoolScience Primary Science Explorer Hackathon 2026, a competition and award presentation for students participating in the school-based challenge, recognising their creativity and efforts in scientific exploration.
