Hong Kong films have set many a benchmark for super-human feats. Despite limited resources, local filmmakers from this tiny speck on the globe bequeathed awe-inspiring depictions of car chases, dramatic explosions and gravity-defying wire work that wowed global audiences, branding a cinematic language echoed even in Hollywood. What made this possible? The “partnering up” team spirit.
This exhibition takes you on a journey through numerous classics from the past decades, exploring different iterations of the Hong Kong “team spirit” and “film spirit”. Apart from displaying on‑screen props that once fired viewers’ imagination, exhibition designers recreate breathtaking action scenes, professional action teams unveil the magic behind Hong Kong-style special effects and heavyweight filmmakers share behind‑the‑scene memories.
Together with The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Tai Kwun aspires to contribute to a culturally vibrant Hong Kong, amplifying the city’s role as a thriving arts and cultural hub in the region and the global arena.
