In 2000, The Hong Kong Jockey Club supported the establishment of the Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing to address the needs of people living with dementia.
As the first integrated service centre in Hong Kong dedicated to dementia care, the Centre provides one-stop support, including day care, respite care and outreach services. It also offers training for caregivers and healthcare professionals to enhance their understanding of dementia and continues to explore new approaches to improving dementia care.
The Centre plays a key role in building a more inclusive and understanding community, helping to break down stigma and support those affected by the condition. By supporting people with dementia to remain active and connected, the Centre also alleviates pressure on caregivers.
