Overview  Opened in 1995, The Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course (KSC) is the first and only public golf course in Hong Kong.

About the facility

Bringing sports to the community at large has long been a prime objective of The Hong Kong Jockey Club. Opened in 1995, The Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course (KSC) near Sai Kung is Hong Kong's only public golfing facility. It aims to make the sport accessible to all, and provides golf training to young people.

KSC's three 18-hole golf courses are located along the rugged coastline of the island of Kau Sai Chau, which is within a scenic port shelter area. The North and South Courses were designed by the legendary Gary Player, while the East Course, designed by Nelson and Haworth, offers challenging golf in a spectacular setting with sweeping views of Sai Kung and the South China Sea.

KSC offers superb golf instruction facilities, including a 60-bay floodlit driving range and a short game practice area. Rounding out the facilities are a golf shop and picturesque catering venues that make KSC an ideal place for organising corporate or social events.

KSC is designed and operated with a strong commitment to environmental protection. In 2005, it became the fifth course in Asia and the first anywhere in China to be classified as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary for Wildlife, an award that recognises KSC’s high standards of environmental management. During the planning and construction of the East Course, a number of environmental measures were proactively implemented, including a closed drainage system, protection of sensitive streams and the restoration of eroded slopes. In 2010, solar-hybrid powered boats were introduced on the ferry service between KSC and Sai Kung, which has helped KSC to reduce its energy consumption, decrease carbon dioxide emissions and reduce marine pollution.
