We help children and youth in Residential Child Care Services build brighter life trajectories, strengthening confidence, family bonds and independent living skills for over 2,600 young lives.
Providing social opportunities to help children, youth and families thrive
In Hong Kong, over 4,300 children and youth under age 21 live apart from their families in Residential Child Care Services (RCCS), facing disrupted attachments, developmental gaps and limited community connections that hinder their growth.
Launched in 2023, JC Project Bonfire is Hong Kong’s first and largest initiative supporting children and youth in residential care. At its heart is the Positive Trajectory Framework, a proven approach where trained managers design personalised plans for each child’s needs. The project also provides financial assistance and builds a social capital network—connecting young people with over 150 organisations to create lasting opportunities for growth, family reunification and community support.
Serving Small Group Homes and expanding to foster care since 2025, JC Project Bonfire supports over 2,600 children and families through family reunions, expanded opportunities, independent living skills training and community network building. The project also focuses on building the capacity of practitioners and setting new standards for Residential Child Care Services.
