We set up community pharmacies operated by non-governmental organisations and offer medication management services and health advice to patients with chronic diseases and minor ailments, to enhance primary healthcare services and help the public self-manage their health.
Serving as the first point of contact for medication support
Due to a rapidly ageing population and the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases and long-term illnesses in Hong Kong, the public healthcare system is facing significant challenges. To ease the burden and strengthen primary healthcare services at the community level, the Jockey Club PHARM+ Community Medication Service Network was launched in 2024.
We establish eight community pharmacies in multiple districts to provide the public with effective and affordable access to medication. We also provide public health support services such as medication consultations, advice on chronic diseases and minor ailments, as well as education on the proper use of medication for public health awareness, expected to benefit over 112,000 people in the community.
By collaborating with our partners, we hope to establish community-based medical networks that serve as the first line of defence in disease management as part of our efforts to promote healthy living.
