The Hong Kong Jockey Club supports underprivileged young children and their families by building stronger foundations for them to achieve better life outcomes.
Equipping children for better life outcomes
From a medical perspective, the critical phase of brain development occurs between the ages of zero and five years old. During this stage, proper care, upbringing and resources are crucial. Without them, the child is less likely to be prepared for school, affecting their development in the long run.
Through KeySteps@JC, we work with the education, health and welfare sectors to develop a holistic model that involves schools, families and the community to meet their needs.
To date, 280 local kindergartens across five districts (Kowloon City, Sham Shui Po, Sha Tin, Tuen Mun and Yuen Long) have benefited from Phase Two of the project. We are also supporting approximately 650 school teachers, reaching approximately 70,000 children and their families.
