MU Soccer Schools coaches hail local youth footballers
27/04/2016

The football skills and dedication of 45 boys and girls from around Hong Kong earned high praise from overseas coaches during a two-day clinic jointly conducted by the Club and Manchester United in mid-April.

Aged between nine and 15, the players attending the clinic were either members of one of the championship teams or individual outstanding players of the HKJC Soccer 4 tournament that was held during the Riding High Together Festival at Sha Tin Racecourse over the Easter holiday.

The clinic included both theory and practical training given by three coaches from the Manchester United Soccer Schools (MUSS) and a team of local coaches. Christopher O’Brien, the Hong Kong Head Coach of MUSS commented: “The players are all very good, both in technical skills and teamwork. It is indeed a tough task to rank their performance.”

Each player was assessed in three areas: physical, mental and social. The four best performers overall will be selected to attend an exchange programme at Manchester United’s training base in the UK later this summer.
