Youth Football Leadership Scheme Joint District Fun Day

The third annual Joint District Fun Day, co-organised by The Hong Kong Jockey Club and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs), was held on 21 May at the Yuen Long District Sports Association indoor soccer grounds. About 40 participants of the Jockey Club Youth Football Leadership Scheme took part in the carnival, which was also attended by some 120 primary school students from all around Hong Kong.
This event gave our Football Leadership Scheme players the chance to apply their knowledge and inspire and guide the students from the sidelines in enjoying the game of football and experiencing a sporting spirit. They then split the students into groups according to their respective districts and worked closely with them, putting to good use their communication and leadership skills. Together, they worked hard and had a wonderful day full of joy and positive energy.
The Jockey Club is committed to promoting the development of youth football. Partnered with leading English football club Manchester United, since 2014 the Club has organised the Jockey Club Youth Football Leadership Scheme to enhance young people’s organizational and leadership skills, and nurture a new generation of young leaders.
