Jockey Club funds Rehabilitation Medical Centre for TWGHs
15/06/2016

The Club’s Charities Trust has played a prominent role in supporting local medical development, donating more than HK$3.1 billion in this area in the past decade.

To respond to the challenges arising from the city’s ageing population trend and the ever-rising demand for rehabilitation services in the community, the Trust has made a HK$29 million donation to TWGHs Wong Tai Sin Hospital to establish the Hong Kong Jockey Club Rehabilitation Medical Centre.

Occupying a 2,100-square-metre site on the Hospital’s third floor, the Centre is equipped with advanced facilities such as a robotic walking therapy system, an upper limb robot training system and a ceiling-mounted hoist system. Having these services centralised on one floor also facilitates the patients’ continued participation in rehab programmes.

The new centre will not only help patients reintegrate into the community but also strengthen care-giver support and training, as well as provide a better environment for staff and patients.
