SPCA Seaside Pet Chill Christmas Carnival - Celebrating the Festival with Fur-iends

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (“SPCA”) hosted its inaugural pet-friendly Christmas Carnival at Wan Chai Promenade from 16 to 26 December 2023. This festive celebration aimed to bring together animal lovers and their furry friends while raising funds for homeless animals at the SPCA Adoption Centre.
Spanning a total of 11 days, the carnival received support from the CARE Team for seven of those days. From 16, 17, and 22 to 26 December, over 100 dedicated CARE volunteers provided assistance for an array of exciting activities, including a winter market and dog agility. The CARE volunteers played a crucial role in offering logistical support, facilitating crowd control, and assisting in the setup and operation of various booths.
In addition, the CARE balloon twisting team and CARE painters created Christmas-themed balloons and provided face painting services respectively to raise funds for finding homes for animals at SPCA shelters. Another highlight of the carnival was a special busking performance by the CARE band on 17 December. Their lively and festive music entertained visitors, adding to the joyful atmosphere of the event and sharing the spirit of the festivities with all the furry companions.
