CARE team is committed to contributing to environmental protection. On 11 January, the team took part in “Night Walk for The Green Earth (TGE) 2020”, a major fundraising event of TGE. The funds raised would support TGE’s campaigns and education programmes that promote “zero-waste” culture in society.

On that day, a total of 24 groups of CARE volunteers joined the night walk with friends and families. They started at Sai Kung Pak Tam Chung, passed by Sai Kung High Island Reservoir, Chong Hing Water Sports Centre, and then returned to Pak Tam Chung as the finish point. The total distance of journey was around 11 km. Besides enjoying the mesmerizing natural sceneries along the trail, volunteers also participated in various activities arranged by TGE, such as guided tours on the history of plastic use in Hong Kong, light painting photography as well as starlight viewing along the walk.

Volunteers found the event very meaningful as it helped to raise public awareness of environmental protection issues in Hong Kong and the importance of “waste reduction at source” in our daily lives.
