HKSCDA Dog Adoption Day: Look for Better Homes for Abandoned Dogs
20/11/2020

Hong Kong Saving Cat and Dog Association (HKSCDA) organised the Dog Adoption Day on 1 November in West Kowloon. CARE volunteers provided on-site support in the event which aims to help eight stray dogs find better homes and promote animal rights.

To search for desirable homes for the dogs, our volunteers were providing details about the dogs’ characteristics and the adoption procedure for interested adopters. They also helped separate crowds and sanitised people’s hands before petting the dogs.

All the dogs have lived through painful abandonment, and some have even been on the verge of death. Yet all of them were fortunate enough to be rescued and have been living in the HKSCDA’s shelter and foster families ever since.

CARE volunteers arrived at Art Park in West Kowloon well before noon on the day, striving for the best interests for the dogs. The scorching sun did not diminish the determination of the volunteers and they were delighted to be able to help the dogs. HKSCDA would start the screening process to decide the suitability of the homeowners for adoption after receiving applications.
