In celebration of its 130th Anniversary and to salute our senior citizens who have contributed so much to Hong Kong, the Jockey Club has invited elderly residents from across the territory to special lunch gatherings at Sha Tin Racecourse. With the support of the Club’s CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team, the 18 lunches were successfully held with over 4,000 senior citizens enjoyed the banquets.
The Club’s CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team, comprising full and part-time Club staff as well as Club retirees, acted as tour guides to show the elderly around Sha Tin Racecourse, explaining its daily operations and the history of Hong Kong horse racing.
Apart from enjoying the culinary delights, elderly guests also shared their stories and experiences in participating various community activities with the volunteers.
