According to the 2011 Hong Kong Population Census, there were 450,000 ethnic minorities in Hong Kong, up 20% from ten years ago. Even though some of them regard Hong Kong as their home and some were even born in Hong Kong, the predominant use of Chinese in the city is a key obstacle to their endeavours in both work and studies.
In order to promote social integration, the Club's CARE volunteer team has launched a series of volunteer services for the ethnic minorities in 2013. Through games and interactive activities, the Club wishes to further inspire the ethnic minority youths to better plan for their personal development and explore their career interests. A visit to the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (Kowloon East Region) Regional Annual Inspection has been organized by the Club’s volunteer together with our community partner the Hong Kong Children and Youth Center on 28 February 2016, so as to equip them with better knowledge on future studies and employment.
