In view of the increasing number of single elderly living in the New Territories due to the moving of young generation to the city, the Club has been collaborating with Heung Yee Kuk New Territories to organise volunteer services to take care of the single elderly in remote villages since 2014. In this three-year programme, the Club’s CARE Volunteer Team paid visit to all the 27 rural committees under Heung Yee Kuk, visiting the elderly living in their villages with goodie bags. The last visit was held on 29 April 2017 (Saturday) at Hang Hau Rural Committee. Chairman of Heung Yee Kuk Kenneth Lau also joined the visit and played Chinese drums with the elderly, leading the entire programme to a perfect ending.
