The CARE@hkjc Team sent 25 volunteers to support the "Hong Kong Island Coastal Trail Charity Walk 2024 (Pet-Friendly Edition)", co-organised by the nature conservation organisation Parks and Trails and Paws Hero, a non-profit organisation dedicated to bettering the lives of animals. The volunteers provided venue support, including assisting participants with registration, distributing gift packs, conducting checkpoint quizzes, as well as cheerleading at checkpoints and finish lines.
The route began at Tai Wong Ye Shrine in Wong Chuk Hang and ended at Aberdeen Promenade with a distance of about two kilometres. This event was a huge success, attracting more than 100 participants and 75 dogs! Participants interacted with volunteers along the way, creating lovely memories for everyone involved.
The charity walk aims to raise public awareness of environmental protection and animal welfare, while promoting the goal of a pet-friendly community, ultimately hoping to build a liveable city.
