At the Hong Kong Volunteer Award 2024 held on 10 December 2024, The Hong Kong Jockey Club was honoured three awards, namely “Outstanding Corporate Award”, “Corporate & Non-Commercial Organisation (Volunteer Hours) Top Ten Highest Volunteer Hour Award” and “Corporate & Non-Commercial Organisation (Volunteer Hours) Gold Award”. These awards acknowledge the Club’s active volunteer work and its continuous efforts to serve the community. Freely Cheng, Head of External Affairs and Sally Tse, Executive Manager, External Affairs of The Hong Kong Jockey Club received the awards on behalf.
Organised by the Agency for Volunteer Service, the Award aims to recognise the voluntary contributions and accomplishments of individuals, volunteer groups and business corporations. The judging panel, comprising local celebrities and academics, selected the Club for these honours in recognition of its strategic approach in promoting volunteerism through the CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team.
The CARE Team has made significant achievements in community service and has set a role model for other companies. Since its establishment in November 2005, the CARE Team has provided a wide range of volunteer services to the community supporting youth development, sports and social inclusion. Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of our colleagues from various departments, the Team has contributed a remarkable record of over 23,000 volunteer hours and served more than 670,000 people.
