The CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team is dedicated to animal rights and actively promotes related services. As a partner of Hong Kong Saving Cat and Dog Association (“HKSCDA”), the CARE Team supported the HKSCDA 2025 Flag Day. The funds raised from this initiative would be used for the daily operations of HKSCDA’s two animal shelters located in Tsuen Wan and Pat Heung, providing temporary housing, medical care and daily support for rescued animals.
The Flag Day took place on the morning of 1 February 2025, with the theme “Keep Saving Stray or Abandoned Cats and Dogs through Love!”. Nearly 90 CARE volunteers participated in this fundraising event across various districts, including Kwai Fong, Sha Tin, Tai Po, Tuen Mun and Tseung Kwan O. The Flag Day was significant not only for its charitable purpose but also for its inspiring and educational nature. It was particularly touching to see some volunteers supporting the Flag Day alongside their dogs, demonstrating their commitment to the cause. Others brought their young children to help them learn about animal rights and welfare from an early age. The volunteers in CARE Team’s red uniforms contributed to the festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year, motivating the public to extend their goodwill and blessings to stray cats and dogs during this special time.
The issue of stray cats and dogs deserves significant public attention. Whether through donations, volunteer services or safeguarding animal rights in our daily lives, everyone can contribute to improving animal welfare and bringing hope and compassion to more stray animals in need.
