The CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team visited Hong Kong Dog Rescue’s Tai Po Homing Centre on 7 and 21 February 2025 to participate in the “Jockey Club Woof Woof Walk”. Some 50 CARE volunteers joined this meaningful activity, designed to enhance the physical and mental well-being of dogs awaiting adoption by taking them out for walks and interactions, thereby increasing their chances of finding new homes.
During the visits, the volunteers not only walked the dogs in groups, but also assisted in transporting supplies within the homing centre and helped trim large trees. They worked together to clear and collect fallen branches and logs, transporting them to collection point outside the centre. These efforts ensured that the dogs’ living environment was safer and more comfortable, while also preventing potential inconvenience to nearby residents.
In addition to improving the facilities at the centre and creating a more pleasant living environment for the dogs, the volunteers enjoyed a relaxing afternoon with the dogs in nature. This experience spread positive energy and love while strengthening the bond between humans and animals.
