Tips for fitting in

Hong Kong university students have their own kind of slang:

“O camp” means orientation.
“Climbing up the cabinet” evokes the image of getting involved in student government.
“Sen” is first part of the word “senior” and it also means “fairy” in Chinese.
“Moms and dads” are peer mentors.

Each generation has its own unique culture, and you’ll fit right in as long as you’re open and willing to embrace a new environment and accept help from your “moms and dads”. Before you know it, you’ll find that you’ve become one of the helpful fairies!
