The Club donated HK$323 million to The University of Hong Kong in 2010 to construct the Jockey Club Tower on the Centennial Campus, housing the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Opened in late 2012, the Jockey Club Tower offers more teaching space and facilities to meet the demand arising from the new four-year undergraduate programme. The Tower also has a community element, as it is being used for a series of training and experience-sharing sessions under the “Excellence in Capacity building for Entrepreneurship and Leadership for the Third Sector” (ExCEL3). Organised by the Faculty for NGOs, these sessions help strengthen participants’ leadership, management and governance skills.
