Why do we have to cool down after exercising?

Warming up before and cooling down after exercising are both important. Fitness trainers say that if we immediately stop moving after exercising, there is a chance that our hearts won’t be able to adapt and this increases our risk of injury, not to mention muscle cramps. That’s why it’s so important to spend about 5 to 10 minutes cooling down, including slow stretches that effectively relieve tension in the cardiovascular system and muscle pain caused by the build-up of lactic acid. Cooling down relaxes your muscles and helps your heartbeat return to a normal level. Slowly your body will recover and you’ll feel relaxed and rejuvenated!
